This is what happens when the graphics department doesn’t know their airplanes.

Is Charlotte’s airport abbreviation really CLT? That’s so unfortunate.

As a pedant: sometimes what the project requires is an easily manipulated image source that fits the bill for the broader goal and for which any anomalies won’t be detected by 99% of the population.

Yeah I totally understand but I’d think Yak-42 clip art would require some serious effort to find especially when compared to a 737.

I was poring over the cities until I realized it was much simpler than that. How on earth did this get a greenlight? I mean, I know Frontier employs like 12 people, but at least 3 of them must have seen this.

I think Bob Loblaw had the real answer above - something easy to change quickly that’s on hand. Alternative theory: they really like 70s soviet airplanes. Or Yaks in general.

When I worked at an agency, this would warrant a serious reprimand (or worse). In-house, though, the aircraft are your core product and the art assets should be pretty well managed to not include things outside your fleet. If I had to guess, it was an agency mock-up that just accidentally made it to print without that key change.

Except I think that Frontier only flies Airbus products. Of course, Frontier flying either a plane that Boeing stopped making 30+ years ago or a Yak-42 wouldn’t surprise me!

Except that Frontier has been flying only Airbuses since 2005.

Cool 727, bro.

Correct. Frontier retired their last 737 in 2005.

A yak, you say?
Here, we see both a widebody and a regional yak.

Think you missed it... that ain’t no 727.

I would think Frontier would already have a bunch of stock images of their own planes available on their intranet for this sort of thing. At least, that’s been the situation at every company where I’ve worked - photos of products, logos, facilities, etc. were all there for whatever department needed them.

You’re right. That’s what I get for being picky. I’m stuck in the 1980s, still thinking they have 737-200s:

Yeah I’m guessing one of the airports might have put this one together on their own, Frontier might not have gotten them a stock image before their deadline.

Ha yeah apparently it’s still 1985 for me, and the 737-200s are still red and Frontier isn’t a terrible airline.
